Human Living Ministry WELCOME!

Human Living Ministry ... originated from

"Living Human" all of my life!  Additionally, it was birthed through years of writing, but more importantly - years of prayer.

I desire to gently walk across someone's heart and step away having left a positive, life-changing impact with the writing and poetry God provides through me for His glory.

  • May the hurting know His love

  • May the lonely know His presence

  • May the lost know His salvation and friendship

  • May the damaged know His reconstruction

  • May the fallen know His recovery

  • May the rejected know they are welcomed by Him

  • May all receive His forgiveness with repentance and recognize they are a part of ...

       The Family of God

For the someone who is interested in knowing Jesus - I am here to share how you can.

For the someone who needs prayer - this is a place to leave a prayer request and I will pray.

For the someone who needs an encouraging read - you will find it here.

Sharing Jesus and Changing lives

Have you ever known you needed to do something ...something you had never done before? If you've had a relationship with Jesus for even a short time, you know you've experienced this very thing. The Lord will ask us to do something that never crossed our minds. He will put this idea in our thoughts and it will become like a heartfelt reminder until we just step out in faith with Him and do it.

This is where I am right now.  Never did I envision I would have a website. Never did I imagine I would create a website myself that would share my writings, poetry and offer an option to leave a prayer request for me to pray with strangers ...and friends alike.  Well, here I am …obeying my Heavenly Father and doing all of the above.

Human beings have a commonality - no matter where we grew up, who we are or what dreams we have.

We are all human.

My family and I happen to have had the privilege of not only being human but actually living HUMAN …since it is our name!  I always knew the Lord would have me do something creative and ministering with this amazing and beautiful name - for His glory.  AND …what a fun name it has been to carry and grow up with. I will share more of the blast it has been as you experience this adventure with me.

I will learn as I go …I know He will teach me.  Thank you for your prayers and patience with me as I toddle along as a newbie in this web arena.  I am excited to share what the Lord is instructing me to in this internet excursion with each one of you.

A favorite Scripture of mine and very much referenced through my life is:

Proverbs 3:5, 6 -

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; (6) in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path.

So, here I am.  I find myself reaching for it even now …as I step out in faith …once again.

Welcome, my human friends!  I look forward to this journey as it offers a place to be a unique part of the human family.

Let's gather together in this place of commonality ...as we all are ...living human./.

I will meet you here - at

I Peter 4:11

If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God.  If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ.
To Him be the glory and the p
ower for ever and ever.  Amen.

How to Resist Arrogance in Another’s Suffering and the Sin of Pride

Abstract Black Curve

Our HUMAN of the Bible Reflection for February- Obadiah, A Minor Prophet, wrote one Book to God’s Word.  This  contribution holds his name and contains one chapter.  In it he writes- as led by Holy Spirit- an admonition from God referring to two things.  This notice was to Edom for they had become arrogant in Israel’s sufferings as well as prideful.

Obadiah 1:12 NIV

You should not gloat over your brother

in the day of his misfortune,

nor rejoice over the people of Judah

in the day of their destruction,

nor boast so much

in the day of their trouble.

Edom was a neighboring army of Israel.  Armies were coming down on Israel and they called upon their neighbor for help.  In this cry- Edom stood back and gloated in the assault on Israel.  Their arrogance caused them to enjoy the adversity Israel was experiencing.  Their pride caused them to join the other armies in the strike against God’s chosen people.

God watched.  God saw.  God invoked His Word of Warning.

Obadiah 1:4 NIV

Though you soar like the eagle

and make your nest among the stars,

from there I will bring you down,”

declares the Lord.

This is a forewarning to each of us.  When we see a neighbor, a friend, a family member, or even an enemy in dire straits- we cannot succumb to arrogance.  We must resist enjoying someone else’s misery and pain.

Arrogance is a distasteful and unacceptable characteristic.  One who elevates himself above another is only doing so in their own mind.  They are seen for who they truly are. Above all- they are seen by Almighty God.

Proverbs 8:13 NIV

To fear the Lord is to hate evil;

I hate pride and arrogance,

evil behavior and perverse speech.

Pride is a sin.  We are given clarification as to what happens when one walks in pride.  Ultimately, they will fall- possibly even be destroyed.  God will deal with this sin so we

must ask Him to search us, know us, and keep us walking humbly with Him.

(References:

Psalm 139:23-24; Micah 6:8)

Proverbs 16:18 KJV

Pride goeth before destruction, and

an haughty spirit before a fall.

Friend, if you want to ensure you are free from arrogance and pride, you can have an amazing personal relationship with our Sovereign God and invite Jesus into your life as your Savior.  You only need to say a prayer repenting of your sins and asking Jesus to be Lord of your life.  Please visit my Invitation and Prayer page for more information.

If you find yourself struggling with arrogance or pride and you are living as a Christian – this is a good reminder and opportunity to repent.  Ask the Lord to forgive you and help you.  He is faithful to do just that, my friend.

I can be reached at thumanburgin@gmail.com

for further information, questions, or feedback.

Should you have a prayer request, I welcome you to stop by my Prayer Request page.  You can complete and submit a prayer request form.  I will pray with you!

Let us keep this at the forefront of our hearts today -

I Samuel 2:3 NIV

“Do not keep talking so proudly or let your mouth speak such arrogance, for the Lord is a God who knows, and by him deeds are weighed.

God knows.  God sees. God hears all.  May we spend our days seeking Him.  May we be a light to those around us rather than a dark, disparaging, discomfort of betrayal or boisterous bloviation.  May we walk humbly with our God and lend a

hand wherever we are needed- for

the glory of Jesus.

As I have taught my children through the years- we are not below anyone, we are not above anyone.  We are all human …we all have a story …and, oh, Jesus loves each of us so!

A Minor Prophet

Obadiah

Our HUMAN of the Bible Reflection- Obadiah, A Minor Prophet- wrote the book in God’s Word with his namesake, inspired by the Holy Spirit.

One of the things that the Holy Spirit directed Obadiah to pen was the words of God to Edom.  Edom was a neighboring army to Israel.  As Israel was attacked by many other armies, Edom stood back.

Edom chose not to be there for their fellowman.  Our HUMAN of the Bible Reflection for February shared the heart of God and His warning.  This alert from our  Almighty God through the Prophet Obadiah was one to be aware of what to expect from Him.  This because they were known for refusing to be there for those nearby- God’s chosen people, Israel.

I ask you to consider this, dear Reader, what are you known for today?   Are you known for being a friend in time of need?   Are you known for caring for others?   Are you known for praying for someone in their loss?  What are you known for this day?

This isn’t about man’s approval.  No, this is not to be seen by man.  This isn’t to comply or fit according to society’s standards.  It is something so much more important, friend.  It is living as God would have you to as Holy Spirit leads you for the glory of Jesus.  This is obeying the Word of God as it is- not adding to or taking from- without taking it out of context.

What are you known for?  Is the lifestyle you choose reflective of the Christlike manner?  Is the path you take guided by the Holy Spirit?  Is the Fruit of the Spirit evident in your life?

Galatians 5:22-23 KJV

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

This month we will review the following themes:

  • What Are You Known For?

  • How to Resist Arrogance in Another’s Suffering and the Sin of Pride

  • Fulfillment of Promise

Are you there for a friend?  Are you arrogant while someone is hurting?   Are you prideful and wise in your own eyes?  God is available to you to forgive you and help you to change your ways.  Pause and pray about what you are known for, friend.  May it be that we reflect Jesus in what we do, who we encounter, and how we live our lives.

Friend, if you do want to ensure you are known for the love of God, you can have an intimate relationship with our Sovereign God and invite Jesus into your life as your Savior.  You only need to say a prayer repenting of your sins and asking Jesus to be Lord of your life.  Please visit my Invitation and Prayer page for more information.

I can be reached at thumanburgin@gmail.com for further information, questions, or feedback.

Should you have a prayer request, I welcome you to stop by my Prayer Request page.  You can complete and submit a prayer request form.  I will pray with you!

It is incumbent upon each of us to seek the Lord.  When we do. we can know Him more each day.  This will change the character of our lives so much that we are known for His grace, His mercy, His ways.

What are you known for?  My prayer is that you pause and pray.  May it be said of you and me that we are known for being like Jesus.  Oh, my friend, I want you to know- Jesus- Jesus- He loves you so!

Let’s look together at what we can learn from this Minor Prophet- our HUMAN of the Bible Reflection for February - OBADIAH!
