Human Living Ministry WELCOME!

Human Living Ministry ... originated from

"Living Human" all of my life!  Additionally, it was birthed through years of writing, but more importantly - years of prayer.

I desire to gently walk across someone's heart and step away having left a positive, life-changing impact with the writing and poetry God provides through me for His glory.

  • May the hurting know His love

  • May the lonely know His presence

  • May the lost know His salvation and friendship

  • May the damaged know His reconstruction

  • May the fallen know His recovery

  • May the rejected know they are welcomed by Him

  • May all receive His forgiveness with repentance and recognize they are a part of ...

       The Family of God

For the someone who is interested in knowing Jesus - I am here to share how you can.

For the someone who needs prayer - this is a place to leave a prayer request and I will pray.

For the someone who needs an encouraging read - you will find it here.

Have you ever known you needed to do something ...something you had never done before? If you've had a relationship with Jesus for even a short time, you know you've experienced this very thing. The Lord will ask us to do something that never crossed our minds. He will put this idea in our thoughts and it will become like a heartfelt reminder until we just step out in faith with Him and do it.

This is where I am right now.  Never did I envision I would have a website. Never did I imagine I would create a website myself that would share my writings, poetry and offer an option to leave a prayer request for me to pray with strangers ...and friends alike.  Well, here I am …obeying my Heavenly Father and doing all of the above.

Human beings have a commonality - no matter where we grew up, who we are or what dreams we have.

We are all human.

My family and I happen to have had the privilege of not only being human but actually living HUMAN …since it is our name!  I always knew the Lord would have me do something creative and ministering with this amazing and beautiful name - for His glory.  AND …what a fun name it has been to carry and grow up with. I will share more of the blast it has been as you experience this adventure with me.

I will learn as I go …I know He will teach me.  Thank you for your prayers and patience with me as I toddle along as a newbie in this web arena.  I am excited to share what the Lord is instructing me to in this internet excursion with each one of you.

A favorite Scripture of mine and very much referenced through my life is:

Proverbs 3:5, 6 -

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; (6) in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path.

So, here I am.  I find myself reaching for it even now …as I step out in faith …once again.

Welcome, my human friends!  I look forward to this journey as it offers a place to be a unique part of the human family.

Let's gather together in this place of commonality ...as we all are ...living human./.

I will meet you here - at

Ninevah or Tarshish?

It is an interesting question.   I encourage you to read the story of our HUMAN of the Bible Reflection- Jonah, A Minor Prophet.  Jonah, by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, wrote a book of the Bible in the Old Testament that shares his name.  It is not a long book. It has four chapters.

However, this book of Jonah is filled with lessons on being human and God’s desire to use us to share His Message- no matter our circumstances, faults, or even disobedience.   If we have a heart that wants to know Him, turns to Him, repents to Him- He desires to enjoy us and work through us to proclaim His love and ways.

You can also read about our HUMAN of the Bible Reflection- Jonah, A Minor Prophet.  Select the HUMAN of the Bible Reflection option on the menu bar.

Jonah was instructed by the Lord to go to Nineveh.

Jonah 1:1-2 NIV

The word of the Lord came to Jonah son of Amittai:

2 “Go to the great city of Nineveh and preach against it, because its wickedness has come up before me.”

Jonah had his reasons, but he chose to disobey God and boarded a ship to Tarshish rather than go to Nineveh.  Our HUMAN of the Bible Reflection for March had his personal judgments, opinions, and thoughts toward the people of Nineveh.  He did not want to go there and blatantly disregarded the direction of God.

Ultimately, he ran from God.  God will always fulfill His plans.  Thus, it was in Jonah 4.  Jonah did get to Nineveh.  He shared the Message of God.  However, he did not expect the people of Nineveh to respond to the alert from God Jonah was given to tell them.  This response caused God to relent and Jonah was angry about it.

I recommend you to read the Book of Jonah.  It is only chapters, yet layered with teachings for us today.  I also encourage you to stop by the HUMAN of the Bible Reflection for this month’s read.  I hope you do.

So, I ask you- friend, Nineveh or Tarshish?  Has the Lord instructed you to do something and you are running from Him?  Is it salvation?  Is it a Message?   Is it forgiveness?  Is it an apology?   Should you recognize that you are running from the directions God is giving you, I pray you will pause and repent.  Seek the Lord right now and let Him comfort you.  He will lovingly show you the way and He will be with you every step of it.

Dear Reader- if you need more information about a personal relationship with Jesus- please see my Invitation and Prayer page.

Do you have a prayer request? Complete and submit a prayer request form on my Prayer Request page.

If you have questions or comments- I can be reached at

thumanburgin@gmail.com and I welcome your thoughts.

Nineveh or Tarshish?  We each have that moment in life.  Will we obey or run?  My prayer is that each of us surrenders to our amazing God- trusting Him- assured that He has the best for us all for the glory of Jesus.  I pray that we choose obedience and go the way of God.

Lamentations 3:40 NIV

Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the Lord.

Our God will guide us by His Holy Spirit, and we will be better humans for it.  Always be confident of this- Jesus is with you and, oh, He loves you so!

A Minor Prophet

Jonah

Our HUMAN of the Bible Reflection- Jonah, A Minor Prophet- wrote the book in God’s Word with his namesake, inspired by the Holy Spirit.

Jonah has a different story than many of the other Prophets in the Bible.  Yet, God has a mercy and compassion for this human that I believe we can all appreciate.

God instructed him to go to a place called Nineveh.

Jonah 1:1-2 NIV

The word of the Lord came to Jonah son of Amittai:

2 “Go to the great city of Nineveh and preach against it, because its wickedness has come up before me.”

Jonah turned away from the presence of God and ran a different direction.  He chose to go to Tarshish rather than Nineveh.  The reasons Jonah chose Tarshish are many.  It was closer than Nineveh, he www prideful and rebellious, but the main reason could be surprising.  Jonah, A Minor Prophet, didn’t just disagree with those in Nineveh- he did not like them.  They were pagans who did not serve God- ignorant of Him and His ways.  This is why God sent Jonah to them.  He wanted Jonah to alert them of His wrath.

God will have His way be done.  Thus, as Jonah had boarded a ship for Tarshish- God allowed a great storm to arise.  This storm raged until the men became so afraid they began throwing cargo overboard.  When Jonah was discovered in the belly of the boat asleep, the sailors asked how he could sleep through the storm.  They cast lots to see who was responsible for this calamity and it fell to Jonah.  In Jonah 1:12, he told them to throw him overboard.

Jonah 1:12-15 NIV

12 “Pick me up and throw me into the sea,” he replied, “and it will become calm. I know that it is my fault that this great storm has come upon you.”

13 Instead, the men did their best to row back to land. But they could not, for the sea grew even wilder than before.

14 Then they cried out to the Lord, “Please, Lord, do not let us die for taking this man’s life. Do not hold us accountable for killing an innocent man, for you, Lord, have done as you pleased.”

15 Then they took Jonah and threw him overboard, and the raging sea grew calm.

After being thrown over, the Lord sent a great fish to swallow Jonah where he spent three days.  Jonah repented.  In

Jonah 2:10, God commanded the great fish to spit out Jonah on dry land.  God instructed Jonah again to go to Nineveh and proclaim His message and he obeyed.

Once there, Jonah declared the warning of God and it arrived before the King.  The King put on sackcloth and ashes.  Then he sent out a decree for all, including animals, to do the same.  This so God would reconsider of this massive order against Nineveh.

Jonah, in his disgust toward the people of Nineveh, went atop a mountain.  He just knew God would keep His promise to judge them because in his opinion they would not be able to do what God asked of them.  He had disdain and great disrespect toward these humans.  To Jonah’s dismay- they did all God asked.

God provided a plant to cover Jonah and protect him.  The next morning He allowed it to wither away.  Jonah was concerned with this plant and angry that the Lord had relented not to destroy Nineveh.

Jonah was taught a lesson from our amazing God.  He had compassion for all humans involved- yes, including our HUMAN of the Bible Reflection, Jonah- A Minor Prophet.  Despite Jonah’s behavior, He took time to have this conversation with him-

Jonah 4:9-11 NIV

9 But God said to Jonah, “Is it right for you to be angry about the plant?”

“It is,” he said. “And I’m so angry I wish I were dead.”

10 But the Lord said, “You have been concerned about this plant, though you did not tend it or make it grow. It sprang up overnight and died overnight.

11 And should I not have concern for the great city of Nineveh, in which there are more than a hundred and twenty thousand people who cannot tell their right hand from their left—and also many animals?”

The great mercy and compassion of our amazing God is not only extended to our HUMAN of the Bible Reflection for March- but also to us.

Friend- should you want to know Jesus as your personal Savior, you need only pray and repent.  Ask the Lord to forgive you and invite Him to be your Savior and Lord.  Please see my Invitation and Prayer page for more details.

If you need prayer, please complete submit a prayer request form at my Prayer Request page.  I will pray with you!

I can be reached at thumanburgin@gmail.com for questions or feedback.

Let us consider all the decisions of this month’s HUMAN of the Bible Reflection- Jonah, A Minor Prophet.  None of us are perfect.  We all make mistakes.  Some of our hearts have anger, frustration, or even pride.  It is a temptation to have those feelings and thoughts toward other humans.  BUT GOD …He has so much more for all of us.  I encourage you to read the book of Jonah. It is a small book, but mighty in lessons.  Even more- the character of our God and His heart to the humans He created is revealed in a remarkable way.
