Have you ever known you needed to do something ...something you had never done before? If you've had a relationship with Jesus for even a short time, you know you've experienced this very thing. The Lord will ask us to do something that never crossed our minds. He will put this idea in our thoughts and it will become like a heartfelt reminder until we just step out in faith with Him and do it.
This is where I am right now. Never did I envision I would have a website. Never did I imagine I would create a website myself that would share my writings, poetry and offer an option to leave a prayer request for me to pray with strangers ...and friends alike. Well, here I am …obeying my Heavenly Father and doing all of the above.
Human beings have a commonality - no matter where we grew up, who we are or what dreams we have.
We are all human.
My family and I happen to have had the privilege of not only being human but actually living HUMAN …since it is our name! I always knew the Lord would have me do something creative and ministering with this amazing and beautiful name - for His glory. AND …what a fun name it has been to carry and grow up with. I will share more of the blast it has been as you experience this adventure with me.
I will learn as I go …I know He will teach me. Thank you for your prayers and patience with me as I toddle along as a newbie in this web arena. I am excited to share what the Lord is instructing me to in this internet excursion with each one of you.
A favorite Scripture of mine and very much referenced through my life is:
Proverbs 3:5, 6 -
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; (6) in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path.
So, here I am. I find myself reaching for it even now …as I step out in faith …once again.

Who Is Tammie Human Burgin?
Tammie Human Burgin is a writer –blessed to grow up in a Christian home –honored to be the granddaughter of a Pastor. She does not take for granted hearing the Name of Jesus before she even took her first breath.
SHE KNOWS –Luke 12:48 …to whom much is given much is required.
Her desire to extend the love, the knowledge, the Truth of Jesus is her mission –her ministry –for such a time as this.
The love and priority she has for her Savior, husband –Scott, sons –Tyler and Zachary and daughter-in-love –Katie, is the definition of who she is and what drives her.
She continues to minister in writing and in prayer what the Lord has done, who He is to her and how someone can know Jesus as their personal Savior.
It is her heart to share the love of God …to one …to all …FOR HIS GLORY!
This week we are continuing our study of August’s HUMAN of the Bible Reflection- Joel, A Minor Prophet.
The incredible story of these humans used by God to me is how the books of the Bible that hold their name are small. Yet, the life they lived with and for God was so very powerful!
The Prophet Joel stated- by the direction of God- a promise in
Joel 2:28:
Joel 2:28 KJV
And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
God spoke an amazing message through this human that years later would bring it together with a group of humans who encountered Jesus- God in human form.
The disciples had gathered together in the Upper Room staying in Jerusalem as Jesus had instructed before He ascended to Heaven. Here they received the Comforter Jesus had told them about. The Holy Spirit came “as a violent wind” as described in
Acts 2:2.
Acts 2:1-4 NIV
1 When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place.
2 Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting.
3 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them.
4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues[a] as the Spirit enabled them.
This promise would also be shared again after the disciples’ experience.
Acts 2:17-18 NIV
17 “‘In the last days, God says,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
your old men will dream dreams.
18 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.
A promise. Once again …God gives a promise. An outpouring of His Spirit. This is an amazing promise to receive, friend. We want to grow in the Lord and know Him in such a way that the Holy Spirit is evident in our lives. The Holy Spirit is part of The Trinity. The Trinity describes God- Father God, Jesus The Son, The Holy Spirit.
An outpouring of the Spirit of God or the Holy Spirit is an important and precious experience. As we grow in our walk with the Lord, we will continue to encounter God- the Holy Spirit in new ways. He is our comforter and our guide. Once we repent and ask Jesus to be our Savior, the Holy Spirit dwells within us. As we seek the Lord to know Him more and invite the Holy Spirit to fill us- we will pray in a heavenly language which is also called praying in another tongue or tongues. It is not anything to fear or mock. It is a gift to welcome and treasure for you are strengthened in the Lord as you continue to pray in your heavenly language.
I encourage you to ask the Lord to show you more about the Holy Spirit. Read the Book of Acts, John 16:13, Ephesians 4:30 and many more.
The outpouring of the Spirit of God - The Holy Spirit - is something we all want to be ready for, we all want to recognize, we all want to receive!

God gave a promise through our HUMAN of the Bible Reflection- Joel. This promise was that He would pour out His Spirit. Friend- it is an outstanding promise and we live in an incredible time. I pray you seek the Lord today. Should you not know Jesus as your Savior, I encourage you to pray- repent of your sins- invite Jesus to be your Savior, and He will. You will then begin your relationship with Him and be a part of the Family of God! Praise His holy Name!
We want to be recipients of this great outpouring of the Holy Spirit! Let us know God more each day and be ready for all He has for us for His glory. Dear Reader- hold tightly to this promise- Jesus loves you so!

A Minor Prophet
The Book of Joel
This month’s study is from another small book in the Bible. Another book that bears the human’s name of whom we will learn from. Another minor prophet that has a major impact. Joel, A Minor Prophet, is the HUMAN of the Bible Reflection for the month of August.
Have you ever wondered what your name means? Did you find out the special definition of the names you chose for your children? The Hebrew names we see in the Bible have such impactful and profound meanings. THE LORD IS GOD is the meaning of Joel- our HUMAN of the Bible Reflection for August. My research showed that “Joel” is from Hebrew origin. Joel is translated from the Hebrew words Yah and El, combined. Yah is a shorter version of Yahweh. Biblically it means the God of the Israelites. While the name El means God. Thus, THE LORD IS GOD is the magnificent definition of the Prophet, Joel.
As we study this human in the month of August, we will learn the message of God’s heart through him to His people included return to Him, as well as, His plan to repay what was lost.
Before we end August, we will have a deeper understanding of God and His judgment. This is not something to avoid, dear Reader. On the contrary- we have an opportunity to glean information about how to know God more, be a part of an outpouring of His Spirit and presence, and be equipped to have knowledge of what is to come and share Jesus and His message with others, as we also grow in our walk with our God

My prayer is we commit today to be a witness of what we learn from this Prophet.
