Have you ever known you needed to do something ...something you had never done before? If you've had a relationship with Jesus for even a short time, you know you've experienced this very thing. The Lord will ask us to do something that never crossed our minds. He will put this idea in our thoughts and it will become like a heartfelt reminder until we just step out in faith with Him and do it.
This is where I am right now. Never did I envision I would have a website. Never did I imagine I would create a website myself that would share my writings, poetry and offer an option to leave a prayer request for me to pray with strangers ...and friends alike. Well, here I am …obeying my Heavenly Father and doing all of the above.
Human beings have a commonality - no matter where we grew up, who we are or what dreams we have.
We are all human.
My family and I happen to have had the privilege of not only being human but actually living HUMAN …since it is our name! I always knew the Lord would have me do something creative and ministering with this amazing and beautiful name - for His glory. AND …what a fun name it has been to carry and grow up with. I will share more of the blast it has been as you experience this adventure with me.
I will learn as I go …I know He will teach me. Thank you for your prayers and patience with me as I toddle along as a newbie in this web arena. I am excited to share what the Lord is instructing me to in this internet excursion with each one of you.
A favorite Scripture of mine and very much referenced through my life is:
Proverbs 3:5, 6 -
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; (6) in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path.
So, here I am. I find myself reaching for it even now …as I step out in faith …once again.

Who Is Tammie Human Burgin?
Tammie Human Burgin is a writer –blessed to grow up in a Christian home –honored to be the granddaughter of a Pastor. She does not take for granted hearing the Name of Jesus before she even took her first breath.
SHE KNOWS –Luke 12:48 …to whom much is given much is required.
Her desire to extend the love, the knowledge, the Truth of Jesus is her mission –her ministry –for such a time as this.
The love and priority she has for her Savior, husband –Scott, sons –Tyler and Zachary and daughter-in-love –Katie, is the definition of who she is and what drives her.
She continues to minister in writing and in prayer what the Lord has done, who He is to her and how someone can know Jesus as their personal Savior.
It is her heart to share the love of God …to one …to all …FOR HIS GLORY!
Ezekiel 34:1-11 NIV
1 The word of the Lord came to me:
2 “Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel; prophesy and say to them: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Woe to you shepherds of Israel who only take care of yourselves! Should not shepherds take care of the flock?
3 You eat the curds, clothe yourselves with the wool and slaughter the choice animals, but you do not take care of the flock.
4 You have not strengthened the weak or healed the sick or bound up the injured. You have not brought back the strays or searched for the lost. You have ruled them harshly and brutally.
5 So they were scattered because there was no shepherd,and when they were scattered they became food for all the wild animals. 6 My sheep wandered over all the mountains and on every high hill. They were scatteredover the whole earth, and no one searched or looked for them.
7 “‘Therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the Lord:
8 As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, because my flock lacks a shepherd and so has been plundered and has become food for all the wild animals, and because my shepherds did not search for my flock but cared for themselves rather than for my flock,
9 therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the Lord:
10 This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am against the shepherds and will hold them accountable for my flock. I will remove them from tending the flock so that the shepherds can no longer feed themselves. I will rescue my flock from their mouths, and it will no longer be food for them.
11 “‘For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I myself will search for my sheep and look after them.
This is a difficult Weekly Theme and Blog in one way, friend. The first part of the theme is Irresponsible Shepherds. God spoke to Ezekiel about this very topic.
Ezekiel 34:2
“Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel; prophesy and say to them: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Woe to you shepherds of Israel who only take care of yourselves! Should not shepherds take care of the flock?
Friends, this scripture isn’t just for that day- it is for now! There are many in the pulpits, podcasts, and propped-up podiums that are no longer functioning in the role as Shepherd. Yes, there are teachings with scripture references, talks with verses, pep-talks about life. Yet, the Shepherd is not there for the congregation.
Read Ezekiel 34:1-31. In verse two, there is a “Woe,” to the shepherds. This is not just a warning from God- it is a solemn warning with grief attached to it. God’s heart is heavy for the people- as well as the shepherds. The description of an Irresponsible Shepherd is their failure to take care of the “flock,” or congregation. He says they only take care for themselves. They are not strengthening the weak or healing the sick - so the people of the church scatter.
How many people have church hopped over the last thirty years? How many channel surf for a church they can relate to? How many “scatter” today looking for the Pastor who will preach the sermon they can receive? What JESUS are you giving to your “sheep,” your church? I am a granddaughter of a Pastor. My intent here is not to attack the Pastors, but to encourage them to seek God about their position as Shepherd.
Parishioners need authenticity from their Shepherd- their Pastor. Are you for real, dear Pastor? How is your walk with God? Are you a motivational speaker or anointed preacher? There is a tremendous difference. Enough of the entertainment, lights out, missing Crosses, removed alters, coffee in the sanctuary. Return to your first love and your prayer closet once more. Stop searching and sharing soggy sermons. Seek God, be filled with the Holy Spirit again. Let Him provide you with The Word to PREACH to His people as you did before or begin now! It’s not too late, Pastor, to reverse the cycle of Irresponsible Shepherd.
Here is the remainder of the theme- God the True Shepherd.
Ezekiel 34:11-12
11 “‘For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I myself will search for my sheep and look after them.
12 As a shepherd looks after his scattered flock when he is with them, so will I look after my sheep. I will rescue them from all the places where they were scattered on a day of clouds and darkness.
God says to Irresponsible Shepherds that HE IS THE TRUE SHEPHERD! He will search for the sheep or congregation. He will care for them. He will find the scattered parishioners and look after them. God the true Shepherd will rescue the church! Pastor, are you listening? God will take over or you can learn from Him and follow His lead. He called you to this great ministry- why don’t you learn from Him right now and do as He does? Be a true Shepherd …with the help of God.
Isaiah 40:11
He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.
This is not a writing just to Pastors or those in Ministry. This is a reminder for all of us to pray for each other no matter our call. We each have an assignment from the Lord to share Jesus and His love. Let us do one more thing …let us lift up in prayer those who have the call to lead us in church from The Holy Desk. Many need a rerouting and some need a refreshing reminder of the importance for foundational faith.

A Major Prophet
The Book of Ezekiel
The HUMAN of the Bible Reflection for the month of June is Ezekiel- A Major Prophet. In researching Ezekiel, I learned that he grew up in Jerusalem. He trained to be a priest to his generation. Ezekiel was a part of the second group taken captive under King Jehoiachin in Babylon.
I discovered in my study that “Prophet” is defined Biblically as a spokesman for God who delivers messages to humans. It gets its meaning from the Hebrew word, “nabi.” I found that nabi means, “one who announces or pours forth the declarations of God.”
During captivity, Ezekiel became a prophet of God. God had messages He wanted His people to know and He gave them to Ezekiel to communicate to them. Some of these messages from God were warnings, judgment, or rebuke. He still gives caution, alerts, and admonitions in our lifetime. BUT GOD …He always offers hope and guidance once understanding has been conveyed.
One of the ways the Lord spoke to Ezekiel was through visions. In the first chapter of the book that bears the name of this HUMAN of the Bible Reflection- we get the details and specifics of Ezekiel’s first vision from God. I encourage you to read this book of the Bible in June as we study and glean from this particular human. Begin now with chapter one and ask the Lord to give you insight as we study together.
From my inquiry, I discovered this first vision to include Ezekiel recognizing God and His glory. The heavenly scene includes a cloud, colors, chariot, cherubim, and collective command of communication- noise of their wings, like the noise of many waters, like the voice of the Almighty, a tumult like the noise of an army- such as described below:
Ezekiel 1:24 KJV
And when they went, I heard the noise of their wings, like the noise of great waters, as the voice of the Almighty,
the voice of speech, as the noise of an host: when they stood, they let down their wings.

Irresponsible Shepherds/God the True Shepherd
Ezekiel was obedient to God in captivity. He experienced magnificent encounters with God because he was available to listen and do what God asked of him. Friend, God only desires the same from us.

God loved His people then and He loves each one of us today. He desired for His people to have an awareness and an awakening of Him during the days of Ezekiel. They chose not to see or listen and they were taken into captivity. My prayer is that we delve into the Word of God this month of June and gather knowledge from the Lord from this major Prophet of God. These words penned by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit through our HUMAN of the Bible Reflection- Ezekiel, A Major Prophet, still apply to our lives and relationship with the Lord in our day.
May it be that we apply wisdom we learn from the Holy Spirit in our daily walk with God. I pray each of us can be a witness to our generation. May we not be held captive in the midst of deception, lies, misdirected narratives in our current times. Friend, my prayer is that we come to know Jesus greater than we imagined we could as we do a deep dive dig into God’s Word. May we glean incredible insights from our HUMAN of the Bible Reflection- Ezekiel, A Major Prophet. I pray for you, friend, that your connection with the Lord brings you so close to Him that you experience a Vision of God’s Glory, too! I pray dry bones live in your life once again. May you discern and even commit to be a Watchman in your world. Oh, dear irresponsible Shepherds- I pray you rise up responsibly and may we all recognize that God is the true Shepherd for us to follow.
