Have you ever known you needed to do something ...something you had never done before? If you've had a relationship with Jesus for even a short time, you know you've experienced this very thing. The Lord will ask us to do something that never crossed our minds. He will put this idea in our thoughts and it will become like a heartfelt reminder until we just step out in faith with Him and do it.
This is where I am right now. Never did I envision I would have a website. Never did I imagine I would create a website myself that would share my writings, poetry and offer an option to leave a prayer request for me to pray with strangers ...and friends alike. Well, here I am …obeying my Heavenly Father and doing all of the above.
Human beings have a commonality - no matter where we grew up, who we are or what dreams we have.
We are all human.
My family and I happen to have had the privilege of not only being human but actually living HUMAN …since it is our name! I always knew the Lord would have me do something creative and ministering with this amazing and beautiful name - for His glory. AND …what a fun name it has been to carry and grow up with. I will share more of the blast it has been as you experience this adventure with me.
I will learn as I go …I know He will teach me. Thank you for your prayers and patience with me as I toddle along as a newbie in this web arena. I am excited to share what the Lord is instructing me to in this internet excursion with each one of you.
A favorite Scripture of mine and very much referenced through my life is:
Proverbs 3:5, 6 -
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; (6) in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path.
So, here I am. I find myself reaching for it even now …as I step out in faith …once again.

Who Is Tammie Human Burgin?
Tammie Human Burgin is a writer –blessed to grow up in a Christian home –honored to be the granddaughter of a Pastor. She does not take for granted hearing the Name of Jesus before she even took her first breath.
SHE KNOWS –Luke 12:48 …to whom much is given much is required.
Her desire to extend the love, the knowledge, the Truth of Jesus is her mission –her ministry –for such a time as this.
The love and priority she has for her Savior, husband –Scott, sons –Tyler and Zachary and daughter-in-love –Katie, is the definition of who she is and what drives her.
She continues to minister in writing and in prayer what the Lord has done, who He is to her and how someone can know Jesus as their personal Savior.
It is her heart to share the love of God …to one …to all …FOR HIS GLORY!
I think a lot about how I grew up in a Christian home. How I was raised by godly parents who taught me about Jesus. I was honored to be the granddaughter of a godly Pastor. My Papa and Nannie pastored the churches I grew up in from the time I was born until my sophomore year of high school.
The beauty of all of it was the foundation I had of God, the knowledge I grew in Jesus, and the understanding I gained in the Holy Spirit. All of this surrounded by the love and unwavering relationship of my Human family which consisted of my parents, my Nannie and Papa, my aunt, uncle and three cousins- with my brother to join us as an answer to my prayers eight years into my life.
I share this with you because I know the gift I was given. I am aware of the blessings I was born into. I am mindful of the provisions that were made for me. These things I recognized and have not- do not- take for granted.
Such a great benevolence bestowed to me has not ever been lost on me. After leaving the life I knew, because of my own personal reasons- I begrudgingly accepted the new path my family took. Once again, I was given a gift by the hand of God. This time, it was an answer to my dad’s prayers- as well as- mine. The Lord connected me with the young man I would marry. He is as close enough to perfect as one can get in the Lord and in life. Following several years of dating, we got married. Four years later, we started our family. Unexpectedly, we experienced loss when we had a miscarriage with our first baby. This was 33 years ago April 17th. BUT GOD …He was with us. I recommend that you read this month’s Encouraging Post for more.
I return to how I began. I think a lot about how I grew up in a Christian home. I’ve always sensed a connection with the Lord and a desire to share His Word. This brings me to the title of this week’s Weekly Theme and Blog- HOW WILL THEY KNOW?
How will they know about Jesus? They will know as Preachers and Missionaries like Nahum give warnings to those like the people of Nineveh. They will know when disciples of Jesus go into all the world and spread the Gospel. They will know …when people like me tell our story. I know that I have a responsibility to write my testimony, tell my story in a video, maybe one day speak about my experience of who Jesus is to me. This is how you will know who Jesus can be to you, dear Reader!

Look, there on the mountains,
the feet of one who brings good news, who proclaims peace!
I’m not a Pastor like my Papa, but I do have a personal journey with my Lord and Savior that is nearly lifelong. I am studying His Word in my private life daily along with gaining knowledge in Biblical education. I have carried the passion to share Jesus since I was a young girl.
Friend, this is how you know …when I, along with others, obey that call to teach of Jesus and His love.

Nahum
A Minor Prophet
The Book of Nahum
Nahum, A Minor Prophet- is our HUMAN of the Bible Reflection for the month of April.
Just like many other books of the Bible, Nahum bears the author’s name. Nahum, inspired by the Holy Spirt, wrote only three chapters in his contributing book. However, the contents weigh heavily as they are read by the Reader. He might have been minor, but the message was major! I encourage you to read this book of the Bible for yourself, friend.
In my research I learned that Nahum was writing a warning to Nineveh. God Almighty is so amazing as we just studied Nineveh last month with March’s HUMAN of the Bible Reflection, Jonah- A Minor Prophet. I found that this alert from our HUMAN of the Bible Reflection for April is 150 years after Jonah’s experience with Nineveh. These humans In Nineveh were know to be Assyrians. Their choices after 150 years were a great descent into egregious, destructive, and horrible actions- worse than their ancestors.
Nahum- A Minor Prophet- gives so much for us to glean from in the three chapters of the book he obediently provided. Join me this month for a study of this fascinating human.

This Minor Prophet shared a major message. It was written to those in Nineveh, but it is also for us today. You and I have an opportunity to heed this same caution.
