Broken.

Do you know what it is to lose something …someone?  If you’ve lived long enough, you, too, have been through tragedy, heartbreak and grief.  I’m sorry for you, I want you to know - you’re not alone.

My family and I have experienced not one, but two great losses back to back recently.  The first was a few months ago.  It had been a lengthy process and we were somewhat prepared, but still deeply saddened and left trying to learn to live without this significant family member.  Only days ago, we endured the second loss - also a tremendously important family member.  This one has left us stunned and surprised as it was completely unexpected.  So, here we find ourselves fumbling around - somewhat wobbling - trying to catch our footing …and our breath.

To be completely transparent, (if you know me personally, that is who I am) ...I am broken.  Being blindsided is difficult, but these circumstances have brought me to my knees.  We know they are with the Lord and that is comforting. Our hope and trust are found in God. However, the timing of both losses - as well as - the second one being unforeseen has buckled me.

If you recognize the image at the beginning of this Encouraging Post, you understand it to be the story in the Bible of the ‘Woman With the Issue of Blood.' She stretches her hand out in faith for healing if she can just touch the hem of Jesus’s garment.  She did and she was healed - for His anointing went from Him - as she believed in faith and touched the hem of His garment.

Luke 8:43-48
43 And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any,
44 Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.
45 And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
46 And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.
47 And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately.
48 And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.

This is where I find myself.  I am reaching for HIM …believing …touching HIM with my faith …that He will see someone has reached out for HIM from a place of brokenness just as she did.  She touched the hem, but I am reaching for HIM!  My faith is strong, but everything else in me is broken, stunned, tired, weak, and sad.  Like her touching His hem to receive His healing power, I reach for HIM in faith - believing He will meet me where I am and restore my wholeness, my focus, my being, my strength, and my joy.

Have you known loss?  Are you experiencing sorrow?  Do you need the hem that will release anointing?  I pray you reach forth and extend your faith …to HIM!  Jesus already knows your name, your need, and your next steps!  Lift up your hands and touch Him with your believing heart. He will answer you. He will raise you up. He will look at you and say, “My Son or My Daughter - your faith has made you whole!”

Please feel free to complete a prayer request form and submit it for any reason, but especially if you need prayer from a loss.  See my PRAYER REQUESTS page. I assure you, I will pray with you and your need will stay between the Lord, you and me.

I encourage you to reach out and touch HIM …along with me, dear Reader!  Let us share in His love and healing power as by touching HIM …our faith in HIM makes us whole. No longer broken!

May we go in peace.

Jesus loves us so, my friend …oh, how He loves us so!

Psalm 34:18
The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

Just what I needed to read today. You have given a word to explain my pain right now…broken. I’m not defeated or giving up, but I am merely broken. I will reach out to Jesus to. Find my healing and restoration.
