Heroes of the Faith ...Today!

In July we discussed faith – the levels of it in believing, trusting and living it. Additionally, we delved into the Heroes of the Faith in Hebrews 11. With this I want to take a present look at Heroes of the Faith …Today.
We each grew up with heroes in our lives. They were those we admired and looked up to. Some were iconic superheroes we watched on our Saturday morning cartoons, while others were actual people in our lives – maybe a family member, friend, teacher or church influence. Nonetheless, we knew who a hero was to us at some point in our lives.
I would like to spotlight a specific set of Heroes of the Faith in our lives in this current day and time. They are a package, a grouping, a tribe of sorts. I’m referring to those who need a caregiver and to those who give the care. There is a lot of faith involved in these situations. Those that I have known and am currently aware of, have a faith in God that is invaluable. They also have a faith between the one that needs care and the caregiver(s). There has to be a belief, a trust and a level of living the faith for all involved to succeed in this routine – every day.
The one in need of care might be completely dependent. However, a drive to appointments could be the assignment. For those with the request and the providers of the service – whatever the task – it is a lifestyle change. It doesn’t stop for the rain, snow or storms. The commitment to the care is on-going, continuous and steady. In most scenarios, this rarely changes. It can be that a work schedule has to be more flexible, communication between siblings and in-laws has to be consistent, or daily life as was once known is completely revamped. Rest must come for the care recipient, as well as, the caregiver when it can be taken. Still, life is different and challenging for anyone in this set of circumstances.
Each story is only known by those experiencing it, witnessing it, living it. Much heartache and sadness can find its way in adding to the already overwhelming situation for all affected.
BUT GOD …when these precious people choose to run to Him, turn to Him, include Him in the insurmountable day-to-day events, there can be joy that is unspeakable, strength that is inhuman and insight that is supernatural. WITH GOD – bonds that get strained can grow stronger or even actually develop, questions that once needed answers no longer require the clarity of “why,” direction with family, friends and even Jesus have a fresh compass.
These “care” journeys come upon us so fast. Life was being lived, laughter being had, plans being made, dreams being fulfilled. Suddenly everything changes priority by a care that must have our attention. For those with the care – for those daily attending – for those who do their best to help as they can – you are seen today. You are the highlight of this post today. You are noticed today. I take the time to acknowledge you – today. Most importantly, know this – JESUS SEES YOU EVERY DAY! Whether you are the one in need of care, you are the caregiver or you are part of a team of caregivers …Jesus not only sees you every day, if you will call upon His Name and welcome Him …He will let you know how very close He really is to you …every second of every day!
Those in need of care, those who give the care – you are HEROES OF THE FAITH …TODAY! You are not forgotten, but wholly and unmeasurably important, do not ever forget this. You are a Hero today and every day. Be reminded of this when you feel alone ...somebody remembers you, sees you and is thankful for you. YOU ARE A HERO!
I must share that the most life-impacting and powerful Hero to me is my Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. At a young age, I asked Jesus to forgive me of my sins, received Him as My Savior and He became my best friend then, throughout my life, and now. It is a wonderful relationship and I encourage you to invite Jesus into your life if you have not already done so. Please reach out to me on my Prayer Request page and submit the prayer request form for prayer, if you need someone to pray. I assure you – it will stay between you, Jesus and me …and I will pray for you.
Let Jesus be your greatest faith Hero …today and forevermore. He loves you so!
Great post!
