We all have experienced the ups and downs life has to offer. Each of us has known loss, as well as, gain. In the victories, we tend to give God the glory, honor, and praise. However, when lack becomes reality – is our first choice still to turn to God?
The winning moments can cause much emotion, excitement and encouragement. In a juxtaposition situation, there are those instances when the life event can be more painful than anyone will ever know and you cannot begin to explain the details for everyone’s understanding. Where do you see yourself in these circumstances?
Any one of us can be caught in various occurrences. Humans are not perfect and life’s situations can leave us bemused, but God is perfect despite our experiences – good or bad. Whether the happening of your day was a recent wedding or an upcoming career opportunity; should you be left perplexed because of a health challenge or broken due to the death of a loved one – when the choice is to turn to God in prayer – you can know His goodness. If success and accomplishment are where you are right now, may you acknowledge the goodness of God. Maybe confusion is what is left from certain relationships. When we have done our part to extend apologies and peace is there – thank God. Should attempts at redemption and mend the relationship be to no avail, leave it with God.
The Word of God tells us –
Romans 12:16
If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone,
Ephesians 6:13
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
Philippians 2:12
...work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
No matter the situation, we can be assured of this – our God is with us. He loves us and is available to us at the mere mention of His name. As we repent, our God forgives us. Wherever we find ourselves, whatever life matter occurs, whenever we are in the most tremendous pain or on the peak of the mountaintop – we can know that our God is among us. Friend, we only need to call on Him and seek His face.
Jeremiah 29:13
You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all of your heart.
Proverbs 18:10
The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe,
Hebrews 2:12
I will tell of your name to my brothers, in the midst of the congregation I will sing your praise.
Dear Reader, our life experiences hold wonderful adventure, astonishing excitement, overwhelming joy. Additionally, we can know stunning tragedy, unexpected devastation, and sudden calamity. Wherever we are – when we pause, pray, and praise our God – we are the beneficiaries of awe and wonder as we witness His gracious, His mighty, His marvelous hand …lovingly meet us. In every life juncture, we are able to encounter the GOODNESS OF GOD!
What is the goodness of God?

Psalm 107:8-9
Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! For He satisfies the longing soul, and fills the hungry soul with goodness.
We see that the goodness of God is the Lord is good. His goodness causes Him to be a refuge in times of trouble. In His goodness, the Lord knows those who trust Him. It is clear that the Lord abounds in goodness and truth, as well as, being merciful and gracious. That goodness satisfies our soul’s longing. He shares His goodness with the soul that is hungry – the soul that seeks Him - the soul that desires to know Him more. What an amazing relationship we can have with our marvelous, astounding God.
Oh, that we would give thanks to the Lord for the wonderful works to us …for His goodness.
