Psalm 133:1 -
Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
Definitions are interesting to me. They give the depth, the root, the origin, the very explanation of a word. With this I decided to look up the word, UNITY. The definition of UNITY according to the Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary is:
(n.) The state of being one; oneness
Twenty-three years ago today our country fell victim to a blind-sided, disgusting, unacceptable attack on our American family. In that despicable moment of hate and violence, we as humans reached out - first to Almighty God, then to our fellow brothers and sisters. Our hearts were wrenched, our souls ached, our minds were wrecked from a brutal assault on our beloved land and people.
In that moment of terror, we found a commonplace of humanity ...we found a mutual point in unity. America as a country was in a state of being one. On this day of remembrance and respect, my prayer is that we find it within ourselves to return there. We met each other in a relatable, sacred moment ...we are still relatable from that experience ...and, friend, it is still sacred. There is so much more that connects us if we will only give attention, priority, and effort to see it - thus, acting on it.
Let us search ourselves - better yet, ask the Lord to search our hearts - and find that peace, love, dignity, and respect for our fellow man as we once did, twenty-three years ago today, while in a devastating circumstance. With God's help, we can choose to live this way day by day with one another.

Unity ...may we come together once again from sea to shining sea ...human to human ...as one. I pray God's very best for you today, dear Reader.
We remember and we do not forget, September 11, 2001.
