We all have a story. A personal book with chapters and even sequels. If you’re still breathing, there’s still plenty to write about your life.
We each have testimonies, triumphs, achievements, and victories. Conversely, we share in the fact that we all know hurt, disappointment, pain and some of us …even, damage. Though our experiences are different, though our adventures don’t look the same, though our memories are diverse - we celebrate, we hurt - just the same.
Achievement can bring accolade. Calamity can devastate us. One thing is for certain - someone’s occurrence - whatever it might be - is not better or worse than another’s. If we are too great to share in the honor of other humans, if our grief is considered colossal enough to keep us from empathy, if we cannot offer praise or sympathy because of our own wins or losses - we need a significant pause.
Should it be that we lack in the congratulatory or compassion sections of our life due to our own circumstances- we have learned nothing along our journey.
May it be that we extend thoughtfulness to each other - whether it is for excitement or heartbreak. May we share in one another’s gratitude, as well as, anguish. May our hearts tether together in joys and in sorrows. We all have a memoir. One is not transcendent nor subordinate to the other.
My prayer is for all to acknowledge the human before us, beside us, behind us. Let us allow the love of Jesus to be offered - no matter the life happening. For we each have a story to tell. It just might be the encouragement someone needs to continue with his or her next step.
If you do not know Jesus personally and would like to - if you desire to encounter a life-changing moment with Him where He meets you where you are - please visit my Invitation and Prayer page. I share more about Jesus and offer a prayer of repentance and salvation that you can pray, as well. He desires for you to come to Him and let Him be your Lord.
You can contact me at thumanburgin@gmail.com if you have comments or questions. I appreciate your feedback.
Maybe you need someone to pray with you. I am here to do so. Please go to my Prayer Requests page. There you can complete and submit a prayer request form. This will stay between the Lord, you and me. Friend, I will pray with you.
Remember, none of us - along with our private pilgrimage - is better or worse than anyone and their expedition tales. We all know the thrill of a conquest; we each feel the pain of a defeat. Yet, if we have had the life-changing experience to encounter Jesus in our life, we will want someone else to hear our story.
Psalm 73:28 NIV
But as for me, the nearness of God is my good;
I have made the Lord God my refuge,
That I may tell of all Your works.
Revelation 12:11 KJV
And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death.
Ultimately, dear Reader, we have two things for sure that unite us. We are all human with our own story andJesus loves us.
Let us commit to make a difference in our world today. I pray we recognize the opportunities to tell others our story of what the Lord has done in our lives. May we not forget, and may we do our part to share ..."Jesus loves you so!"
Great post!
